While your child is under general anesthesia, their body functions are carefully monitored and supported by a trained anesthesia provider. Throughout the entire procedure, the anesthesia team continuously monitors important vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, oxygen levels, and other measurements to ensure your child’s safety and comfort.

General anesthesia may be recommended for children who:

• Need extensive dental treatment that would be difficult to complete over multiple office visits
• Experience significant dental anxiety, fear, or difficulty coping with treatment while awake
• Are too young to safely cooperate for necessary dental procedures
• Have difficulty sitting still, keeping their mouth open, or tolerating dental treatment
• Have a strong gag reflex or increased sensitivity that makes dental care challenging
• Have special healthcare needs, developmental conditions, or medical concerns requiring additional support
• Need multiple procedures completed safely and efficiently during one visit
• Have previously had difficulty completing dental treatment in a traditional office setting
• Require a controlled surgical environment with specialized monitoring and anesthesia support
